How to convert an image to the 8-bit RGBA format?

In order to convert an image to the 8-bit RGBA format, you can use GIS software.

Example with QGIS 3.0.X:

After loading the raster in QGIS, right-click on it and select “Export -> Save as..”.
In the pop-up window that appeared, select “Rendered image” to save it in 8-bit RGBA GeoTIFF format.
